Why does Victor contemplate suicide?i need help on this question and if somebody knows more about the story frankenstein or knows any websites i...

Victor considers suicide because he feels so guilty about creating a monster that took his brother's life.He also feels extremely guilty because he kept quiet while Justine was arrested and tried for the killing of William. He never expected Justine to confess to a crime that she did not commit, but Justine was more afraid of going to hell than telling a lie. So, Victor felt responsible for two deaths, his brother's and Justine's. In addition, his beloved Elizabeth was devastated by both events. Victor says,

"This also was my doing! And my father's woe, and the desolation of that late so smiling home--all was the work of my thrice-accursed hands!"

However, Victor knows that killing himself would be too much for his father to handle and so he decides he must go on living.
