In "A Rose for Emily", Colonel Sartoris influences Emily by making her do.... what?a. think about future suitors b. feel if she is above the law c....

Colonel Sartois thinks he is actually helping Emily by saying that her father had loaned the town money so she does not need to pay taxes. He knows her situation and in a chivalrous act, tries to take a burden away from Emily. However, in his hate to protect her, he has actually made her feel she is above the law and not subject to its consequences. This will prove significant later in the story when Emily must deal with another situation not to her liking.
