How useful are Learning Palettes with first grade reading skills and vocabulary?

Learning Palette is available for grades K through 3 for Reading and K through 5 for Math. Learning Palette requires no writing, answers are selected according to colored disks, and provides a visual self-checking feature that allows for finding the correct answers almost immediately. After all disks are placed in answer to the Palette question, the student flips the Palette to see if the colors match up according to the correct answers.

There are many topic sets in Reading and in Math. For instance in Reading there are Palette sets for Beginning,  Vocabulary, Beginning Consonant Sounds, Vowels, and Rhyming Words. Math has a comparable collection of topic sets to choose from. Learning Palettes combine learning features that are good for the tactile and visual learning style types, with no features for auditory learners unless they are encouraged to say everything they do out loud to themselves or to another person.
