Inhabitants of the BNW refer to the passage of time as "Before Ford" and "After Ford," similarto our marking of BC and AD. they also deify Ford as some in the BNW "make the sign of the "T".
The society uses Ford and the principle of his assembly line in the production and manipulation of embryo(es) in the Department of Hatcheries and Conditioning Center. The Embryo moves down a conveyor belt and is subjected to more oxygen if it is predetermined to be an Alpha or alcohol if it is determined to be of a lower caste.
Huxley also uses Ford's concepts in the case of economics and societal consumption. Inhabitants of the BNW are encouraged to consume liberally so factories and the economy will be stable and operating efficiently.
