Jane truly loves Rochester, and has loved him since she worked for him at Thornfield. She couldn't marry him while he was still married to Bertha, though. Also, she had reservations about marrying him in the beginning because of how thoroughly he was trying to take care of her, changing the way she dressed and how much she worked. Even at that point, she knew that she needed to be needed in a relationship, and that she needed to be able to be herself, in order to make it work. At the end of the novel, Bertha has died, removing one obstacle. Jane is also able to care for herself because of her money, removing another obstacle. Finally, the fact that Rochester is now handicapped means that he needs her to take care of him. All the hesitations she initially felt are gone, and she can be with the man that she loves finally.
