The theme of this novel is teen suicide and the effect that it has on everyone involved. Andy Jackson lost his friend, Rob Washington in a terrible car wreck. Andy feels guilty because he was driving and the boys were drunk. The book follows the life of Andy from the night of the accident through his own suicide and the emotions felt through his family, friends, classmates and teammates. Ms. Draper explores all aspects of the pressures teens face and how differently individuals deal with grief and loss. If you haven't read this book do so now. My class read it and they really enjoyed it.
